Background on my Weather Career: In 1978, I was hired by Environment Canada and moved to Ottawa for training courses in Surface Observing and Upper Air(Radiosonde Flights). I completed my training in March, 1979 and was posted to Eureka, N.W.T. (now known as Nunavut). I worked there for about 14 months. (Historical Note: In February 1979, Eureka set the North American record for the coldest mean montly temperature -47.9 C or about -54 F) I believe that record is still in-tact as of this writting.

I decide in the summer of 1980 that a career in the Computer Business was in order and left Environment Canada. However the 'weather' was still close and dear to me, and when I moved to Okotoks in 1988, I decided to volunteer as the Climate Observer for Okotoks, Alberta. That work started in the Spring of 1990 and I have been submitting my 'twice-a-day' observations to Environment Canada ever since.

Weather Page: For many years, I have wanted to post my observations on-line since I received many requests for weather related data. I purchased a La Crosse WS2315 weather system, set it up inside my weather station that housed my Maximum and Minimum Thermometers, along with a wired rain gauge and Wind measuring System.

With the help of a co-worker(Eric Black Eric Blacks Weather Station - please visit his web site too) who had already setup his own private weather system at his house, allowed me to use the software he had developed for displaying local weather conditions. I got this system setup at my house and now published on the Web under my name. (thanks Eric!!)
